The Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute announced on the 4th that it has created an unmanned robot cafe in the Bundang Center that combines biometric authentication such as facial and palm vein authentication, mobile employee ID, and payment service. The cafe consists of a fintech experience hall and a robot cafe where employees of the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute can experience the biometric information registration and authentication process.
After selecting the coffee menu at the kiosk, the biometric information (palm vein, facial) registered in the Fintech Experience Center is authenticated and the payment is deducted from one’s salary. Convenience has been enhanced as payment can be made only with biometric authentication without entering a separate customer key value.
The mobile employee ID has been used for access authentication, electronic payment, and login functions of the education system, and it has been expanded and applied to this robot cafe. Non-face-to-face payment is a web-based pre-order and payment service. After placing a mobile order, the employee receive a notification when the coffee order is complete. You can use the service easily without installing a separate app or registering as a member. Merchants can build remote ordering services at low cost.
