Fulcrum Biometrics won the 2012 GSN Homeland Security Award in the Best Biometric Identification Solution category for its FbF® mobileOne portable biometric fingerprint accessory for iOS devices, including the iPod Touch®, iPhone® and iPad®. Government-grade biometric fingerprint and facial identification capabilities combined with lightweight portability make FbF mobileOne an ideal solution for mobile ID.
San Antonio, Texas – December 5, 2012 – Fulcrum Biometrics, Fulcrum Biometrics has been named the winner for the Best Biometric Identification Solution in GSN’s 4th Annual Homeland Security Awards competition. At a gala dinner that drew hundreds of government officials and industry executives to the Washington Convention Center on November 29, Government Security News announced the winners in 42 different categories. Fulcrum Biometrics, a leading international provider, distributor, integrator and manufacturer of biometric systems and devices, won the award for its FbF® mobileOne portable biometric fingerprint scanning accessory for the iPod Touch®, iPhone® and iPad®.
The winners were selected by a panel of objective judges, according to Jacob Goodwin, Editor-in-Chief of Government Security News. “We received an outstanding group of entries and have handed winners’ plaques to an exceptional group of companies and government agencies,” said Goodwin.
FbFmobileOne comes in two form factors. One is a sleek fitting sleeve for iPod and iPhone devices and the second is Quick Dock – a dockable solution for all iOS devices. Both form factors fit comfortably in a cargo pant or vest pocket. Its portability combined with commercial grade biometric fingerprint and face identification capabilities make FbF mobileOne an ideal solution for government, military, law enforcement and commercial ID needs. The FBI has certified that the FbF mobileOne product meets specifications listed in the EBTS Appendix F Mobile ID FAP 10 using Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Single
Finger Capture Device Specifications of the FBI’s Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (IAFIS) Image Quality Specifications.
FbF mobileOne works with a variety of mobile law enforcement apps, including Fulcrum’s own RISCmobile application that runs on iPod, iPhone and iPad. RISCmobile makes it possible for law enforcement officers, security officers and border patrol to capture fingerprints and face images of subjects in the field and match those images against the FBI’s Repository for Individuals of Special Concern (RISC) database. Fulcrum is currently engaged in various pilot projects with law enforcement agencies around the country and will be launching this new application nationwide early 2013.
